NASCOH is the premier umbrella body for more than 50 organizations of and for persons with disabilities in Zimbabwe. Founded in 1969, we have spent over five decades serving as the collective voice for disability rights, rehabilitation, and inclusion. About Us

What We Do

We were instrumental in the shift from the welfare-based 1992 Disabled Persons Act to the rights-based National Disability Policy (2021). We continue to lobby for the full alignment of national laws with the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD).

We lead programs that enfranchise persons with disabilities, ensuring they can exercise their right to vote and participate in governance through voter education and the auditing of polling stations for accessibility.

We serve as the primary bridge between the disability community and national policy-makers. Our advocacy is grounded in the Social Model of Disability, which identifies that the primary "disabilities" are the barriers created by society rather than individual impairments.

Information Dissemination

Our quarterly newsletter highlights the success stories and impact of our 50+ member organizations.

We play a leading role in national platforms like the National Disability Expo, which brings together thousands of stakeholders to showcase inclusive technology and talent.

A monthly electronic update that tracks the latest news, funding opportunities, and legislative developments.
